The games that I played as a kid were browser based and text based usually, especially in the early 2000s. The games required players to consider factors such as diplomacy, timing, rivalries and planning. Such games are missing from the gaming industry now. So, I aimed to create my own text based game that would cater to those who miss such games.
3155 is a free, persistent multiplayer space strategy game. Every player controls a planet in the same universe, competing through seasonal rounds.
Another popular strategy game is Homeworld, where you can develop asteroids and build your economy; research technologies and construct new facilities; produce specialized combat and capture fleets; attack rival planets and capture their territory; and perform various other in-game actions such as coordinating attacks with other players, completing expansion and resource missions and infiltrating planets using Influence Agents. The game also allows you to participate in live battles that are reported in real-time to your planet; participate in daily objectives, compete for rankings within the game and receive seasonal awards; and interact with other players of the game to form rivalries and even alliances using the built-in bIRC system.
The combat system in the game is based on the concept of building the right composition of ships, considering counters, timing, landing zones and protecting the player's flagship Astropods. The size of the player's fleet does not necessarily determine the outcome of the battle.
This game runs within any modern web browser, including on both desktop and mobile platforms, with no software required to be downloaded or installed. The game is in an active beta phase and I am seeking players of all levels who would be interested in helping to develop the game with me.
I would genuinely appreciate any feedback that you have about the gameplay, balance and overall experience of playing this game.
