Live beta is open for Game Of Hastatus. Sign-up is free and needs no invite code, and new players can redeem the gift code GOH2026 for a starter pack. It is a gladiator RPG that opens in your browser, built around short sessions in a world that lasts.
World and progression
There are seven regions, from the Ash Plains to the Ruined Keep. A warden waits inside every stone, and an elite stands at the bottom of every region. The loot belongs to whoever brings them down.
In the arena you are not fighting a bot: another player built that character. Starting today is not starting late, because regions, dungeons and opponents open at your level.
Weapon types and prowess
The sword is no longer the only choice. Sword, axe, spear and dagger are kept equal in power at the same tier and quality; the difference is how they fight. Every type has its own prowess that grows from level 1 to 10 as you use it, and the four types progress separately.
- Sword, Riposte. When an enemy attack misses or is dodged, a chance to counter.
- Axe, Momentum. Consecutive unblocked hits add damage to the next one.
- Spear, Deep thrust. On a hit, a chance to pierce the defense completely.
- Dagger, Double strike. After each attack, a chance to strike again.
Prowess comes only from battle. Past level 5 a full bar is not enough: you need a rare Prowess Stone from dungeon bosses, pearl oysters or the market.
Equipment, crafting and the market
You put the sword that dropped back into the fire. +7 held. +8 held. At +9 you hold your breath, then lock the enchant that stuck and reroll the rest.
Items go up to legendary quality, and in a crowd your weapon is recognised. You set the price on the market, break down what you do not need, and press your own item from the dust it leaves. You can also keep your gold safe in the bank, and set pieces wait in the Armory without taking bag space.
- Enhancement. Equipment can be pushed up to +9.
- Enchant rerolls. Lock the enchant that stuck and reroll the rest.
- Crafting and dismantling. Break down unwanted items and craft from the dust they leave; pick the weapon type when you start the craft.
Dungeons, arena and guilds
There are five dungeons, five sets and five bosses: the Ember Lord's vault, the Frost Queen's strongroom, the Titan at the top of the tower, the shadow at the bottom of the abyss, and the Lich Cardinal in the cathedral. Every boss wears the set you are hunting, and six pieces unlock the bonus. One defeat ends the run.
Every dungeon also has four harder tiers beyond Normal. Enemies hit harder and new obstacles appear, from an elite at the fork to an extra enemy in every wave, and each tier pays more XP and gold. Clear one tier to unlock the next.
Arena battles use an ELO system across five leagues, with hourly and weekly rewards and a report for every fight. Your character defends while you are away, and the decision to attack is always yours. Someone else chose that opponent's stats, enchants and tactics.
You can also found a guild, raise a camp out of ruins, unlock permanent bonuses with buildings, and march on a rival camp at the weekend. Guild battles let you fight side by side with your guild, and when the Ember Gate opens the whole server strikes the same boss.
Fishing
Buy bait from the Fisherman, cast and watch the float. It may twitch, then the fish nibbles, and only when it goes fully under do you pull. Too early and it spooks; too late and it takes the bait and flees.
- Fish and oysters. Fish restore HP or sell on the market. River oysters hold Upgrade Stones or gold; pearl oysters are richer and, very rarely, hold a Prowess Stone.
- Five baits, a ten-level rod. Better bait unlocks as your rod improves; every level means fewer escapes and more oysters, with a new rod and float look to choose and ten lakes to fish in.
- It fishes while you are away. Leave your character at the lake for 2 hours a day and collect the basket when you are back.
