The Free Companies

The Free Companies is a low-fantasy browser game about building power in a world that remembers. You start by creating a Peon, which you can build into a Homestead, equip yourself with a Company, and take part in Expeditions, World Events, rivalries and wars.

How it plays

You start as a Peon. You build a Homestead and you can either join or found a Company. From there you can take part in Expeditions, World Events, rivalries and wars.

A world that remembers

The world continues to turn between visits, but it is meant for short sessions. What players do becomes part of a public ledger, including claims, bounties, deaths, victories and defeats.

Current state

Character death is permanent, so the choices you make matter. The game is currently in live beta and I'm building it with players who prefer slower, social PBBGs in mind.
