Over 60 skills you can increase by taking courses, crafting gear and tools, fighting, healing, cooking, mining, doing quests, joining events,... Daily stamina increases as you gain skills

Many events across the year, including the Spring Barbarians, Easter Egg Hunt, Cleansing of the Realm, ... some are just fun and silly, others increase your combat skills or gain experience/win great prizes.

One of the interesting in-game choices is to make the soup-kitchen free-bread count independent of each of the cities. This means if you ask (and receive) a free bread from the soup kitchen in Spero - every other city will be aware you asked for free-bread. They'll be aggregately generous until the 30-day point ... in which case they'll all spontaneously know you used up all the free bread.
However, although i'd prefer each city keep it's own counter, i'm just thankful. Being hungry sucks.

Its nice to see a game where literacy is not taken for granted and being literate is rewarded

Having more travel food than bread would be excellent; maybe you could catch fish and eat them (maybe you can later in the game?) or you could eat a rabbit that you fought - to be fair, maybe that's available in the game ... just feeling that bread-only (my current understanding) seems quite limiting

One of the more useful artifacts in the game is the journal. However, unless you dig into the Wiki, you may be surprised to learn you can only spend 12 Stamina per day. Given so many other constraints are mentioned in the game AND how ostensibly essential the journal is - it seems like they'd want to communicate this on the only page you can write in your journal.

The Grail Lords is a deceptively complex game with a lot to do, learn, and get involved with. Combat, crafting, and gathering resources are all simple but fun, and there's a large number of humorous and interesting quests to complete. You can tell a lot of love went into creating this game, and it's compelling enough to make a daily visit well worth cultivating.

Another thing i like is that its almost not pay to play. You can trade in-game currency for a little more stamina - but 99% of the daily stamina you get comes from game play. It, thus, meaningfully rewards diligent engagement without punishing its absence

Not many games allow you to skill-up in both Reading and Pickpocketing

Great game! Progression is meaningful with lots of different directions to go towards. Great community.

I've been playing The Grail Lords for about two years, and it's become one of those rare games that keeps pulling me back. It isn't the kind of game that tries to impress you with flashy graphics or constant dopamine hits. Instead, it rewards patience, planning, and being part of a community.

Seriously a nice and steady game. Lots of Seasonal Events and a great online player base to help out with any questions. Some of the best beginner quest missions to get you on your way.
