Hello, first of all a big thanks to all of you who have signed up and spent time playing Blood Money Empire so far.
If you've only spent a few minutes browsing or if you've already put a few hours into creating your own masterpiece, we want to know what you think!
Since opening the public beta I've been dealing with player feedback and fixing problems reported to me. I've also been improving both the gameplay and the presentation of Blood Money Empire.
Recent improvements
Over the past few weeks we have been focusing on building on and polishing what's already in the game.
This has included:
- Bug fixes and performance improvements
- Gameplay balancing across various activities
- UI and navigation improvements
- Quality-of-life changes based on player feedback
- Continued visual improvements across different areas of the game
There's still a lot to be figured out, but the game is continuing to evolve as more players take the different systems for a spin.
Inside Blood Money Empire
In addition to fixes and balancing, I've been working on how different parts of the game look and feel.
It's worth a look at some of the systems available in the beta.
Criminal activities
Begin on the street and handle lower risk crimes and move up to more difficult crimes.
Every crime has its own risk and reward. A failed attempt could end up with you dead, and with more heat, while more practice will increase your chances of success.
The new interface gives every activity its very own identity, while keeping the important information, like payouts, XP and success chances, easy to see.
Fraud operations
Fraud is a different way of making money.
You're not just going to try and commit a crime. You're going to attempt to improve your plan until you feel it is good enough to try. But you're also going to have to decide when it is good enough.
Vehicle theft
Vehicle theft is another way to make money and to build your collection.
Some cars will be easier to steal than others, but if you pick a rarer vehicle, it will provide more of a reward, though it could also prove to be harder.
These are only a few of the systems already available. I'll be taking a closer look at other parts of Blood Money Empire in future updates.
What's coming next
Des développements sont sur les différents sites de Blood Money Empire.
Some of the things planned or being worked on include:
- New crimes and criminal activities
- Expanded gang functionality
- More missions and progression content
- Additional items to find, buy and trade
- Continued UI and visual improvements
Also, there is some much larger work that is happening behind the scenes, but I would rather reveal those systems when they're ready, rather than show them too early.
This week's beta question
For my first weekly update, I would particularly like to hear about the early-game experience.
If you've started a new character recently:
Was it clear what you should do and where you should go when you first started playing?
If not, what confused you or could have been better explained?
I'm also interested in hearing about:
- Anything that feels frustrating or unbalanced
- Bugs or unexpected behaviour you've encountered
- Features or areas of the game you particularly enjoy
- Anything that has made you stop playing or lose interest
Even if you are unable to write an essay, or even a few sentences, your comments can be useful.
Thank you again for being part of the Blood Money Empire beta, and most of all for helping make the game better.
I'll be back next week with another update and a new beta question.
See you in the underworld,
Blood Money Empire
