Interstellar Empires launched its first official world on September 1, and I have continued development since then with new alliance content and improvements for players joining the world later. A Halloween event begins on October 26, and this is also a good moment to share some of the work that has gone into the game since launch.
Since launch
I am the solo developer, and I have spent the past several weeks working on both new alliance content and improvements for people joining the world later. I wanted to give players another reason to check in, and the Halloween event felt like a good moment to share that progress.
Alliance activity on the Galaxy Map
The Galaxy Map now includes Darkspace Incursion, an alliance event where a mysterious ship appears in space and sends incoming fleets across the map. It uses both space and ground combat rather than being another Portal invasion.
I have also been expanding NPC alliances. New players can join these alliances, and the NPC factions now participate in activities including the Galactic Nexus and fights over Trading Stations.
The goal is to make a persistent world feel more active even when there are not enough human alliances to contest everything.
What Interstellar Empires is
Interstellar Empires is a free browser space strategy MMO. Players develop planetary bases, research technologies, build fleets and ground armies, and operate through a shared Galaxy Map and a separate Portal Network.
