Overview - What you'll findZero-G is a persistent, single-shard space MMO that runs in a browser tab,built in Rome, Italy. Version 5.5.0 adds Planetary Cruise: you now fly yourship over planetary terrain yourself and land it anywhere you choose. Theworld opened in January 2026 and has never been reset.

Physics and navigation

There is no brake button. To dock you rotate your ship 180 degrees and planyour deceleration with Flip & Burn, calculating mass, inertia andTsiolkovsky's rocket equation. Newton is the only judge in the vacuum.

Planetary data

Every lunar crater and Martian canyon is mapped with metric precision fromNASA mission data, and everything finer than that data is generated in yourbrowser as you zoom. Terrain elevation directly affects mission success, andnow it affects your landing too.

VERSION 5.5.0 - PLANETARY CRUISE

* Fly the landing yourself. Press Initiate Landing on any fully scanned quadrant, then fly your ship over the surface and put it down where you want. Real-time, fully multiplayer: other pilots are flying the same terrain at the same moment, and you can see them.* Three new ship stats decide how it handles. Cruise turn rate, Maximum Landing Speed and Mining Range. A scout turns. A loaded hauler argues.* Two live damage readouts. PSD and PAD show what a crash would cost you before you commit to it. Green is clean. Ships are never destroyed by a landing, but they do need repairing.* Mining has moved. Ore is somewhere specific now, and you have to fly to it: mining only starts once you are inside your ship's Mining Range.* Advanced Cargo Extenders. New blueprints with diminishing-return curves that reward mixing types on the same hull.

Ventures and conflict

Player organisations, called Ventures, claim terrestrial quadrants, buildDepots, manage corporate budgets and set trade prices. Hostile fleets useJump Drive tech. The first Purple Heart Medal went to a pilot who lost aheavy freighter near Mars.

Disclosure: I'm an early supporter and daily alpha tester for Zero-G. That said, I'm sharing this because I think the game deserves more eyes on it. The small team here is doing an amazing job at creating a game that is already showing GREAT promise. Joy has continued to produce an incredible number of new systems in the game while maintaining an admirable level of stability. I have been amazed time and again when he drops a new update on us just days after the previous. Come join us!
