Resource Yields & Scouting!

Dear Seekers,Until now, searching for ingredients worked the same wherever you traveled. A forest was a forest and a shore was a shore, regardless of how often other Seekers had already searched there.Today we are introducing a new system that makes gathering more dynamic and gives individual places on the map a more life. Every location where ingredients can be gathered now has its own resource yield, ranging from Abundant to Depleted. Searching an area will gradually reduce its yield, down to a minimum of 10%, making ingredients more difficult to find. Leave the area undisturbed and nature will slowly replenish its resources over time, at roughly 10% per day. The base chance of finding ingredients has not changed. Your skills, equipment and other bonuses continue to determine your base chance just as before. The new resource yield affects how effective that chance is on the particular tile you are searching. An abundant tile gives you 100% of the yield you were used to before. The Perception Skill now has a new use. Seekers can judge the condition of an area simply by examining their surroundings. The higher your Perception, the more accurately you can recognize plentiful resources. Even an inexperienced Seeker will notice when an area is Depleted, while experienced observers can distinguish between Scarce, Moderate, Plentiful and eventually even Abundant locations. If your Perception is not high enough to determine the current yield, you can Scout the Area. Scouting costs a small amount of Stamina, always succeeds and reveals the exact resource yield of that tile. You may also scout an area more than once. Even if you already know its current yield. While searching for ingredients at the forest or along shores, you now also have a small chance of finding Mushrooms. This update is part of a larger effort to make the Realm feel more dynamic and interactive. The actions of Seekers can now temporarily affect the environment around them. Eventually, the new resource-yield system is also intended to support future updates, with similar local yields planned for other activities. As this is a new system, we will closely follow how resource yields develop throughout the Realm and adjust the balance where needed. As always, your feedback and suggestions are welcome, so we can continue improving the Realm together.Yours sincerely,~ Lord Arogandor
