Overview
Something old is rising under the world, and the only things standing in its way are the monsters you can talk into fighting for you.
TEXEL is a retro turn-based battle RPG with a Lovecraftian streak and a sense of humor about it. Collect pixel-art fighters, arrange them on a 3x3 grid, and pick 3 lines each turn: a row, a column, or a diagonal.
Every fighter on the line you choose to put on the board attacks at once. Stack your heavy hitters where the lines cross, put your healer in a quiet corner, or decide a skill is worth the wait.
Each turn, you choose which lines of fire you would like to use, and every fighter either swings or uses its skill when the cooldown is up.
Seven elements, Fire, Water, Earth, Wind, Light and Dark - Neutral, do trade double damage in a cycle so the right matchup can be as important as raw stats. Buffs, debuffs, shields, lifesteal, executes, rally heals, pre-emptive strikes, and potions can all give a team a unique rhythm and give every fight a different feel. Potions can also turn a fight without taking your turn.
Summon is one of the many nearly a hundred unique pixel fighters, ranging from a cursed fast-food mascot to a boxing pickle, to the slumbering gods whose dreams drive the world mad.
There are five rarities posted odds, and a guaranteed Legendary pity system. Fuse duplicate fighters to add stars, increase stats and shorten skill cooldowns. Try to get all of the stars to evolve your fighter into something more rare.
Equip your fighters with all the latest weaponry, armor, and accessories from a multitude of bosses and our new Gold Shop.
Fill your Necronomicon: every fighter you discover stamps a page and pays out a one-time reward. Earn achievements and wear titles like Cult Initiate, Seer of Truths and Eldritch Bound in chat and on the leaderboards.
Unlockable battle themes wrap the fight in CRT scanlines, VHS grain, Retro Console palettes and even synthwave neon.
The Texel seems like the RPG from a console you half remember that never existed. Crisp pixel sprites, a black and purple UI that watches you back, and a soundtrack to boot.
Texel is completely free to play. Optional purchases include shard bundles, a monthly Membership, a premium battle pass track and one-time starter bundles. Summon odds are shown in-game before you pull.
Texel is in open beta. Progress may be reset before full launch. You can shape the game with your feedback.
